After the hilarious topics covered in Ahmar[Q] bil khat el Areed (human donkeys, men who wax and pluck their eyebrows), Malek upped the level of his show to cover Social Media Revolution in the Arab world. When I first saw the TVC, I was like, Ok this should be interesting to watch and it was.
We were a bunch of tweeps (who are actually active: @FunkyOzzi, @JadHamdan and @_Archangelus_ ) gathered at @FunkyOzzi’s place. Well all I can say is we had a good laugh. Malek’s fast and somewhat “Ill interrupt you anytime” pace was really annoying. His endless pauses were even more annoying, but anyway, the peak of the show was when Amina the Tunisian guest bashed the Lebanese guests: ” the difference between Tunis and Lebanon, is that we are united, and apparently you guys still need a lot to reach that” she said. The moment she said that my twitter timeline faluded with comments thanking her for what she said.
The show hosted: the Egyptian activist @waelabbas, and Lebanese Activists @trellalb and Kinda as well as @Shankaboot. Long story short it was a lesser Fail than his previous episodes, but a FAIL nonetheless.
@waelAbbas asked Malek if he had a twitter account, so after blushing and smiling, he said that he does but still needs tweaking, We checked the account ( a freshly made account with not even an avatar #Fail).
Tip1: next time you do an episode about social media tools highlighting on twitter, update your profile, create a hash tag and interact.
Tip2: If you want to talk about heroic events, you should have contacted the people who were actually real heroes and present in Tahrir Square: @bloggerSeif and @sarahKaram1; I don’t think they are hard to reach.
Tip3:Dear Malek, research, research, research (lesson one in journalism).
And finally, @trellaLb in the end of the show insisted on letting Malek know that the fans out there consider him his hero because he endorsed Civil Marriage in Lebanon, so of course Malek blushed and smiled and ended the show. Well to those who doesn’t know Malek married PM Nayla Tueni in Cyprus (civil marriage) because he didn’t had any other choice (fehmkoun kfeyi), and for a supporter of the civil marriage who is married to young PM you are considered one lousy supporter, where is the pressure, comments or action exercised by you(I3lamiyon! LBC Anchoron! Ahmar bil khat al 3arid mokaddimon! Wassimon!), and Malek think twice before you want to comment on the idea of Sex before Marriage and attack those who are with it (referring to @shankaboot’s comment on the show regarding the topics in the Shankaboot episodes).
Finally, yesterday’s Ahmar[Q] bil khat el Areed episode, Tenzakar w ma Ten3ad.
